Riminizo

There is a big thing on the blogosphere that the majority of songs must be fresh off the press brand spanking new. I am all in favour of this as it is giving opporunity to all of the new acts and producers.

This song isn't at all new but its not really a problem because its really good.
Don Rimini is a well known Italian producer who Crookers remixed a while ago, his music is big and bright house music with heavy thudding beats woopwoop. This is a remix of Numero's 'Star Model' track.

Wimbledon 2009

Tennis is a big thing to me because I am useless at almost every other sport.

I could talk about English tweeness and Pimms and how its a shame Nadal isn't playing and whether Andy Murray is going to win but I'm not going to.

Instead listen to this dead good WILDLIFE! remix of The Do.

YES YES YES

SUMMER HAS ARRIVED.

which means loads of different things, but most importantly it means that there are loads of festivals to go to, most of which will be pretty amazing. I went to the UNNNNAAYYYY festival BeachBreak in Kent the other week which has a reputation of being wafty as hell but actually it was pretty womping powpowpowpow! This stands as testament that nearly every festival will be pretty pretty good.

However I would recommend not necessarily hitting Reading or somewhere typical like that when there are so many amazing slightly smaller festivals happening which have a lot to say for themselves: for example MELT! festival in Berlin, Pukkelpop Festival in Belgium, Glade Festival in Somerset, Greenman Festival in Wales.

In the face of boundless optimism you need some kind of soundtrack which can be found in the form of the Treasure Fingers remix of Diamond Cut. Treasure Fingers are kind of new disco engineers who have worked with people like Chromeo and Drop the Lime, all props!

Wouldn't be the same

Without at least ONE cheesed out Italo Cosmic Disco track which sounds like your youth in the future.

Thanks to the ever reliable and ever interesting DISCODUST for bringing this to everyones attention.

They are called FLASHMEN

http://www.myspace.com/flashmen

they do this 80s sound like no-one else, big catchy hooks, massive synth sounds, driving 80s beats. PERFECT.

DOUBLE DUCKS

Diplo is a much loved man.

He gave MIA a helping hand into the bright lights, he runs his label MAD DECENT which hosts some of the most innovative and interesting dance and hiphop artists right now, he works with SWITCH and has brought us some pretty ridiculous dancehall bangers with his project MAJOR LAZER.

He also remixed BART BMORE and its insane. Lots of big bubble like bleeps, sounds like an urban unicorn, imagine the dark strobey underground room as you listen to this.

Tashersaurous Vex

Hello Tashfans,

Happy Belated Easter to you all and I hope you all had a good time and got yo' egg on.

First and foremost I apologise for not updating the blog in such a long time, I have reached that period in a students life where I am mildly more busy than I have been for the past 3 years so I am physically incapable of doing anything other than 'procrastinating' (strictly February - May buzzword.)

I have been reaping the world of music of all of its fruits as the spring time is ushering itself in, it seems to be a very exciting time as new cosmic disco sounds are becoming more prolific echoing around the dancefloors, techno is making a revival, minimal house has raised its game and the bass scene is going from strength to strength with more and more imaginative releases coming to the surface.

Foamo is massive right now. Fact. Everyone from Bloody Beetroots to Rusko to Andy George going nuts about him. Radio love him. Club love him. Human love him.
New remix of JACK BEATS track 'What' is a stormer, racing African beats with what sounds like fighting robot hippos as a bass line. Completely amazing.

p.s BIG LOVE to the residents of Broadway Market for showing me the badpicturesofobama website for this pic!

Jelly Bones

A friend of mine called Shelley has started blogging about the place she lives in and all of the things she gets up to.

As shes a pretty interesting character she does pretty interesting things. She spends her time either cantering down afternoon sun soaked beaches in Wales looking wide eyed or standing around chipping her teeth in sweat crusted basements spitting beer listening to ragged punk bands.

If this interests you and you feel like reading about somebody who enjoys doing these things, then I firmly recommend you have a browse of her blog.

BOOM.

Caucasian = COOL

SPRING IS IN THE AIR.

The best thing I have listened to recently has flown all the way from Berlin in the form of The Whitest Boy Alive.
Last year at Melt Festival they played to a steaming, packed crowd who were queuing outside of the tent to hear them play.

Along with all of this preemptive summer weather this is a good sound to look at nodding daffodils and grin.

"..I object to intellect without discipline"

Squire of Gothos are two fully grown men from Sheffield who bring their pranging ridicubass to our stereos through Electro stimulation/Coin Operated. They are named after a character from a Classic Star Trek episode but I don't have any idea why except that they're badass.

Here's a bit of the episode so you can sample the Squire in his classic form:

and here is "Sandpaper Riddim'" by the Sheffield version which is absolutely insane:

Rusty James To Warm Your Winter Cobblers

Enjoi!!!!

FLAMING FLAMINGOS

Russ Chimes is a good man.

He is from London and produces tracks that sound like they should be found in 80's Sci-Fi action sex scenes or Miami cocaine fueled car chase sequences. There are a whole list of these kind of folks who are coming out of the woodwork with this kind of synthy blissed out vibe,

Anoraak is amazing:

as are Miami Horror:

and College:

If you are where I am (in Devon) it is raining and it is cold. This song will make you feel better about the rain, and the cold.
